Laser marking creates a permanent identification or design on the surface of a material without significantly removing material.

Laser engraving removes material from the surface, creating visible depth. It is commonly used for items requiring added durability.

The Simple Difference:
Laser marking is a surface etch with no depth, while laser engraving removes material to create depth.

Both processes provide permanent, precise, and repeatable results and can be used on a wide range of metals and other materials.

  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and PVB: Releases toxic and corrosive chlorine gas.
  • Carbon fiber and Teflon (PTFE): Emits dangerous fumes when burned.
  • Leather containing Chromium (VI): Produces hazardous chemical reactions.
